Marmaduke Movie 2010 is an upcoming live-action film adaptation of newspaper comic strip drawn by Brad Anderson from 1954 to the present day. The film centers on the Winslows and their dog, a Great Dane also known as German Mastiff named Marmaduke, as the family moves from Kansas to California. The movie is set for release on June 4, 2010 by 20th Century Fox and Regency Enterprises to just about 3,000 theaters nationwide.
The movie was directed by Tom Dey (same director for Shanghai Noon, Showtime, and Failure to Launch) and produced by Regency Enterprises and Davis Entertainment for 20th Century Fox. The premier Actor Owen Wilson voiced Marmaduke, along with actors Lee Pace, Judy Greer, and William H. Macy, playing humans, Steve Coogan, Sam Elliot, Fergie, George Lopez, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Emma Stone, Kiefer Sutherland, and Marlon Wayans also in voice roles.
It must be noted also that the film was released a week earlier in Venezuela on May 28, 2010. Marmaduke has been rated PG by the Motion Picture Association of America for “some rude humor and mild language”.
